Community Residential Services: DEAF ACCESS Washington is accredited to provide Community Residential Services through the Department of Social and Health Services, Residential Services Administration (RAS). DEAF ACCESS Washington contracts with the Department of Social and Health Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities to provide Community Residential Services.

DEAF ACCESS Washington 's community residential services program provides residential support services to deaf and deaf-blind consumers who are determined eligible for services by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). If eligible and funds are available, a case manager from the Division of Developmental Disabilities will develop with the consumer an Individual Plan of Care (IPOC) to be implemented by the community residential service provider. The community residential services provider will design individual based services that are available to the consumer through instruction and support of the following consumer-centered benefits: health and safety, personal power and choice, positive recognition by self and others, integration into the physical and social life of the community, positive relationships, and competence and self-reliance. Individuals will have access to other programs, as needed, such as vocational rehabilitation, behavioral health services, linguistics and interpreting services. Staff is available to provide additional support as necessary, both directly and indirectly to individuals enrolled in this program.

It is the goal of DEAF ACCESS Washington to provide individuals enrolled in community residential services the opportunity to enjoy all the rights and privileges under the Constitution and laws of the United States of America and the State of Washington; to participate in community life to the greatest extent possible; and to achieve a greater measure of independence and fulfillment.
